Unexpected miracles...

On Friday, I went to the Emergency Room with my Husband because my stomach was killing me and I had felt sick. Really sick. When I got there, they had took my urine and blood for lab work when I looked outside of the curtain and saw my mothers aunt on a stretcher. She is about 60 years old. She had a neck brace on and had her eyes closed. Shocked, I said to my husband, "That was Merle on that stretcher!" He rushed out of our room and went to her to see what happened. Apparently she had been walking her dog who might I add weighs more than she does and she got slammed into her blazer by the dogs force. A few minutes later my mother and her uncle showed up. My mom peeked her head into the curtain. She already knew that we were there. She went back to her aunts room while the doctor FINALLY came into my room to see me after two hours of sitting. He felt my stomach and he said that they were going to run some tests with the samples they took. While waiting, my mother came to check on me and We found out that Merle broke her hip and her wrist and injured her wrist. With all the bad news, I just really wanted to get out of that Hospital. The doctor came back in about two hours later. He quietly and slowly said "Okay, here's the deal. You're pregnant...." After those few words, I didn't hear anything else; it was like every sound was muted. I looked at my husband and his eyes were watery. I immediately started smiling and then I came back to my senses and listened to everything he said about the stomach pain being normal and what I needed to do about it. The rest of the night I didn't even think about any pain that I had. I was in complete bliss. I feel so blessed to be having a baby. I can't wait to see it on the ultrasound and to hear its heard beat and to find out the gender and to watch it grow with my help. I could not be happier.

The Married Life--

I thought being married would be different than how it was when my husband and I were dating, but it really isn't different at all! The only thing different is the last name. I cannot get used I signing "Stacy Welch" instead of "Stacy Curtis". Although, hearing my husband say "This is my wife" when introducing me to people he hasn't seen in a while is a pretty sweet feeling. :)

My first little rant.....

Home sweet home?

I'm eighteen years old and living in East Kentucky (hopefully not for too much longer). Although I was born here and I do see the beauty of the sireen-ness of the "mountains", the bad outweighs the good. Sure, the people are sweet and small town ways are cozy but this place is seriously so isolated that when you go out of state, you feel more at home than you would at your actual home. Let me explain that statement-- Most of us all watch TV, we get on our social networking sites, we are up to date on our society's pop culture.... Of course our lives are based around these things.... that's how the world works. However, a lot of people HERE only know one thing-- The Beloved Mainstream. Usually when someone asks me who my favorite band or artist is, they are puzzled at my response because I don't reply with a Modern Country starlet or mainstream rapper's name. It's hard to just carry on a conversation because no one knows what I'm talking about nor do I not know what they are talking about! It seems as though anything anyone around here is concerned about is whatever is popular. Not only that, but I was "blessed" with the Eastern Kentucky accent that just makes me mad every time I hear it. When you go out of state and open your mouth, people just laugh at you! Whoever said home is where the heart is, lived anywhere but here!
